Strangers for a Night
PG COMIX 2024 was, as always, an opportunity for important meetings, one of them being the prestigious visit of the Rector of the University of Foreigners of Perugia Valerio De Cesaris who, followed by his family, showed curiosity about the event and our association.
It was an interesting conversation that planted the seed of a collaboration that right from the start showed great potential for opportunities for us Brigata boys and all those who following us will be able to benefit from it.
This collaboration materialized for the first time with an official invitation to participate in the beautiful “Strangers for a Night” event, a historical tradition of the university that sees the mass participation of students and many other young people who got to know them during their study stay.
A highly inclusive event in the broadest sense of the term, where the mixing of cultures, languages and ages for the presence of students, faculty and employees. Into all of this comes the Independent Brigade to enrich this bouquet of “differences” … As we expected everything flows, with no special attention other than the thoughtful welcome to make us feel at ease immediately, making us feel welcome and expected guests … In short, what we call “true inclusion.”
A few customary pleasantries and introductions, an initial exchange of words that was repeated throughout the evening with the Rector (who insists on being called Vittorio) and Prof. Cristina Gaggioli, and then we finally get into the heart of the party thanks to the smiling Alice who introduced us to the “eat and drink” services (exquisite and jovial). A brief tour of palazzo Lupattelli event venue and then we refresh ourselves before the entertainment.
Having quenched our thirst (very hot evening) and our hunger thanks to the street food stands we finally devote ourselves to this special universe of UNISTRAPG, an athenaeum and atmosphere so unique that it has no equal. They are not just students, they are practically a whole world concentrated in a few different environments, languages and traits that have in common a smile and a desire to have fun together. In all this, the Brigata is just another “part of the world” to smile at and have fun with.
So we enjoy the musical performances that inevitably trigger our desire to dance together with everyone, in a spirit akin to the events we organize at Brigata … Where everyone is invited … We are all different and together we are beautiful.
The evening flows quickly thanks to the fun, together with so many young people our age, we are full of expectations for the collaboration that in the future will allow, for the boys of the Brigata who want, to participate in university courses.
On evenings like this the future, often gray without opportunity, is colored with hope giving us all great energy to continue in our projects of inclusion and autonomy.
